在12月6日，微软正式对外宣告了Windows Store。Windows 8的用户将可以通过Windows Store来购买或者下载Metro风格的应用程序Windows Store将面向231个国家、地区开放（Windows Phone Marketplace躲到一边暗自落泪去了，到现在Windows Phone Marketplace也只不过支持35个国家和地区而已），支持100种以上的语言。
